Humanitarian Immigration

Helping victims of crime and asylum seekers receive protection in the United States.

Asylum

Political asylum is an immigration benefit for those who are fleeing harm in their home country.

Many people who apply for asylum have been harmed or fear harm because of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, domestic violence, sexual orientation, political opinion, familial relationships, and membership in certain groups. This area of law is very complex.  If you are afraid to return to your home country, you should have your case evaluated to see if you might be able to apply for political asylum.

It is important to remember that political asylum has several legal deadlines of which you may not be aware.  Because of these deadlines, you should not delay in having your case evaluated.

We deal with asylum claims from various countries in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.  Each person has a very specific story and we take a lot of time evaluating a claim in order to let the client know the strengths and risks of applying.

Types of Humanitarian Immigration Asylum Cases

Gay and Transgender Individuals

Depending on your country of origin, if you are gay or transgender, you may be eligible for political asylum. Furthermore, same-sex married couples now have the same immigration rights as heterosexual couples.

Victims of Domestic Violence

Our firm works extensively with victims of domestic violence on immigration benefits such as political asylum and U-visas.

Indigenous Guatemalans

Our firm works with many individuals from indigenous communities in Guatemala.
